Calm in the Midst of Uncertainty

In this time of uncertainty we have a tendency to panic and become irrational.  However as Albert Einstein has stated “in the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity”.  This perceptive does take create courage and leadership to realize.

Don’t panic and make these mistakes:

During these times many companies will view their staff as liabilities and as such will try to cut their hours and wages.  This is not my position today.

I would look deeper into other expenses to cut.  This is the time to invest and train your staff to think like owners and “hunker” down together.  Why?  So when the tide turns, your company will be ready and take full advantage.

For today, consider:

  • Changing your online marketing message to be more staycation focused, unless your customers are looking to retire in 3 years, people with money still have money
  • Focus on efficiencies
  • Diversify your offerings
  • Instead of Face to Face meetings, use zoom video conferencing
  • Be present and communicate regularly with your staff
  • Keep true to your core values
  • Really understand your numbers and what they mean

We are experiencing new and unprecedented times.  None of us has experienced this before.  If you are struggling as a business owner or manager on how to manage through this, give us a call.  We can share with you what others are sending out to their staff and clients.
